At Willowfield Lake Cottages we are committed to working in a sustainable way

We are undertaking the following actions in order to achieve this.

• To comply with the requirements of Environmental legislation and approved codes of practice .
• To continuously seek to improve our environmental and social performance.
• To reduce pollutions , emissions and waste .
• To reduce the use of energy,water and other resources .
• To raise awareness ,encourage participation and employ sustaianable business practices.
• To demand similar environmental standards from suppliers and contractors .
• To assist and encourage our visitors to use products and services in an environmentally sensitive way .
• To work with and support our local community .
• To work closely with Eco-design architects to improve the environmantal impact of our buildings and site .
• To manage the grounds in as natural a way as possible to supportand increase plant, insect,bird and animal activity .
• To encourage our visitors to reduce the use of their cars and encourage walking , cycling and promote the locality.

We would ask you to help us. A green folder in the cottages has suggestions on what you can do to be a greener visitor .

Responsible Visitor Charter

Be a responsible visitor :- Seven things you can do to help the environmental impact of your holiday.

1. Conserve energy --reduce energy by switching off lights and closing windows if heating is on .
2. Give the car a rest -- Leave the car , if only for a day--walk , cycle or stay on the site .
3. Shop and Local -- Use local products, they give you a flavour of the area and help support local communities . See information pack for local markets,local food and drink producers and organic produce .
4. Reduce,Reuse , Recycle--avoid overpackaged goods, use a "bag for life" ,recycle where possible .
5. Be waterwise --please use water wisely, shower v bath, turn off tap when brushing teeth , use short flush on toilet .
6. Respect Nature -- No litter, guard against fire --use footpaths and cycle ways--anglers beware discarded line etc .
